A look at the Daily Mail headlines, 18th February 2022.

I saw that Storm Eunice has made the front page headlines in the Daily Mail, so I thought I would have a go at a different paper for a change.
In my opinion, most newspapers have something useful to say, but often it is the ‘popular’ or tabloid press that gauges the temperature of what is really going on.
The so–called scholarly articles of more middle class papers, if I can call them that, are all too often nowadays spouting a load of ignorant twaddle.
So I seek a balance and try and take on board matters from all angles. Or angels maybe! After all, there are angels who write newspaper columns you know.
Here goes then, my humourous take, on the whole, on the main headlines as I choose. I had hope to issue this much earlier. I am a bit slow. But still, I think worth posting.
UK BRACES FOR ‘STING JET’ STORM – Mighty Eunice set to wreak havoc across the UK
This has nothing to do with ‘Sting’s jet’, of the band ‘The Police’ fame, which he, Sting, may own to fly around the world, but to do with a scorpion style/shaped storm which is doing its best to batter Britain. It is blowing a hooley as I write.
On the other hand
Sting publicly opposed Brexit and supported remaining in the European Union.
So maybe it is his fault and he is still pissed off with the UK voters who thought that the EU wasn’t nice after all.
The storm is called ‘EU nice’. I think this proves my point, don’t you?
I don’t think the EU is nice, although Nice is in Europe on the south coast of France. Sting does have a house in the UK but also has houses in other countries. I think Sting can bugger off and sting someone else (bugger off means in this instance ‘go and listen to something else’ as in bugging a conversation).
Please note it is a scorpion that stings Orion in the constellations. This is a reference to Satan, the serpent, who would sting the heel of the seed of Eve as in Adam and Eve.
The heel also the he-el, the male angel, a reference to Jesus Christ. He was stung by Satan, but has crushed Satan’s head. So, yah, boo, sucks Satan, you suck!
Part of the headline is Millions told to stay indoors in rare red alert. Now forgive me if I am wrong, but I rather thought we have been told to stay at home due to deadly seasonal ‘flu or Covid 19 as it is now known.
So I am not sure that ‘rare red alert’ is quite right. The red may refer to communism of course, among other things.
I have previously warned people about lerts. See More About Lerts. There’s still a lot of crap about to avoid, so do take care everyone.
As regards the Police, I see the Ottawa Police are being a pain to the truckers’ protest and their horses have walked over an elderly woman with a wheelie frame. Seems a bit OTT to me.
Still it’s in the name OTT-a-wa Police. You would have thought they might pick on someone a bit more mobile.
I see Justin ‘I’m not in right now as a vicious toddler has threatened me with a flag and I have gone to the Olympics’ Rudeau has said that it was a bicycle thrown at the police caused the upset.
But what can you expect from Ottawa Police when an anagram is ‘O a twat cop lie’?
And if The Police caused a storm of protest across the world, is it surprising the storm is crossing the Atlantic and hitting the UK?
I see we have quite a lot of summary detail about Storm Eunice on Wikipedia now, so I will revisit, as I think there is material here for me.
Rayner: Police should shoot terrorists first and ask questions latter
What a wonderful idea from Angela Rayner. But worth reading the article as I think she was joking to make a point. This gets plenty of media discussion going.
Interestingly she must be an angel with a first name like that. And with Rayner as a surname perhaps she could ‘rayn’ on the UK. This would make UK rayn. Which takes back to the Ukraine of course.
Anyway, she goes on to talk about thugs and ‘I want a copper to sort them out.’ Fair enough, but if the thugs had proper fathers in the first place perhaps they would not have become thugs. Bullies are usually abused by bullies in the first place, and so on back down the family line.
Undermining stable marriages in society was not a good idea, the ‘experiment’ has failed. Let’s apologise and set things right, shall we?
4,000 extra places in jail
Some people may think this is for all those who contravened the GUIDANCE for gov.uk and didn’t anti-social distance wear masks, take a poisonous vaccine etc. etc.
Some say this is for drug addicts and rehabilitation. 4, 000 extra places won’t deal with the 50% or so of the population on big pharma neuro-toxic drugs however.
Which may include those who took the poisonous neuro-toxic vaccines. Many still seem addicted to having their six-monthly ‘fix’.
Still others point out that there is a strange coincidence between the ’20,000 prison places by the mid-2020’s’ and the phrase and I quote:
‘The number of inmates is expected to rise because of a drive to recruit 20,000 more police officers.’
So maybe these 20,000 are going to be criminals, so just put them in jail to start with. No logic, but since when has logic been apparent in the last 22 months?
Navy boats ‘too high’ for migrant patrols
If they are navy, what about the other colour boats then? Use them instead I say.
However, on closer inspection I see it is not that at all; the side of the boats are too high. I thought the Navy officers had more intelligence than that. There is such a thing as rope ladders and netting. No imagination some people.
They used them in the war films I have seen so why not now?
James Heappey is the armed forces minister who has said this on behalf of the admirals I gather. He was in the army once himself. His photo is ok, but he looks a bit dim to me.
This photo and text from Wikipedia:
During the 2017 general election, he apologised for an incident when meeting the sixth form at Millfield School in Street, Somerset. Heappey asked pupils how they would vote in the proposed second Scottish independence referendum, and a Scottish girl said she would support independence. Some reports asserted that Heappey then asked her “Why don’t you fuck off back to Scotland?”, but The Guardian reported Heappey’s statement that he told her to “fuck off”, but did not say “back to Scotland”. In his apology, Heappey said that the comment had been intended as a joke.
I don’t find it funny. He seems happy though. But then ‘Jae seem happy’ anagram of his name. Happy but dim then.
It is possible he actually said ‘Why don’t you cough?’ Sometimes people mishear things. Coffin (sic) can be a symptom of Covid 19 I gather. Especially when you die of a heart attack caused by the vaccines.
Then you rot or are incinerated in the coffin. Burning the evidence before an autopsy can be carried out helps maintain the mainstream narrative of course.
Elvis lives! Comeback for the King and Colonel Tom (Hanks)
I thought Elvis was still alive anyway. That’s what the internet says in places. I don’t get out much.
What I didn’t realise is that he was 42 at the time of his death. Which by now perhaps you realise is the ultimate answer to the ultimate question. Bizarre.
Great songs he does though. ‘Jail House Rock’ ideal for today when people put themselves in lockdown, give them something to dance to and cheer them up.
Justice review chiefs take up the fight for Post Office victims
The evil of this is just vile. The Post Office high up goons are just idiots at best. Who would ever rely on computer systems alone to justify false accusations of fraud?
Idiotic CEO’s and Post Office managers who seek profit over care and common sense, that’s who. They have been weighed on the Post Office scales and have been found wanting.
They will be stamped, but stamped on hard and heads crushed for their brutality.
Baldmichael has three day streak
Well, okay, this was not a Daily Mail headline but it seems WordPress know something I didn’t. Apparently I was been streaking for three days a week ago or so.
The weather may be warming up, but streaking for three days is not my idea of fun. It is one thing to try and maximise one’s vitamin D, but at this time of year the ‘sun don’t shine that much’.
However, it seems that in fact this is having three posts in three consecutive days, one after the other. So another milestone reached. Wonderful.
I can think of more interesting milestones, but I suppose WordPress like to be positive towards their customers.
Anyway, in the meantime I need to work on other posts, Vladimir Putin, what’s in the vaccines that sort of thing.
Saint David’s Day was on Tuesday and I missed it. Perhaps I was ‘having a leek’ at the time (ahem). So Happy Belated Saint David’s Day to any Welshmen and women. I hope you had a ‘Wale’(s) of a time!! Good bye!
Or in Welsh,
