Saturday Snigger – Stugeron and Sturgeon, what’s the difference?

By Baldmichael Theresoluteprotector’sson

I was surprised to observe that Stugeron, brand name for an anti-sickness pill, is an anagram of Sturgeon.

My mother used to take Stugeron sometimes I gather on the ferry crossings to France that she and my father took. I have had it myself as I can suffer from seasickness.

However, I preferred to avoid such things and given the side effects I now read about I am not surprised.

Stugeron is one of three trade names, Stunarone and Cinarin being the others, with a registered chemical name of Cinnarizine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnarizine#

It says

Side effects experienced while taking cinnarizine range from the mild to the quite severe. Possible side effects include drowsiness, sweating, dry mouth, headache, skin problems, lethargy, gastrointestinal irritation, hypersensitivity reactions, as well as movement problems/muscle rigidity, and tremor.

Cinnarizine is also known to cause acute and chronic parkinsonism…

I note that one of two anagram phrases of the word Cinnarizine is:

‘cinerin Nazi’.

Cinerin is either of two oily liquid esters C20H28O3 and C21H28O5 of cinerolone having high insecticidal properties and occurring in pyrethrum flowers and distinguished by the numerals I and II

Cinerin is classified as an irritant and environmental hazard according to this link.

Anyway, what’s the difference between Stugeron and Sturgeon? Well, if we are looking at the Nicola Sturgeon variant it is this:

Stugeron stops you being sick.

Whereas Nicola Sturgeon makes you sick!

However, looking at the side effects of Stugeron which range from the mild to the quite severe, I am not sure there is much difference after all!

And to finish here’s the label for this brand of pills called Sturgeron, guaranteed to make you sick.

Look out for the sign of Baldmichael, he will be back!

P.S. I see and SNP M.P., Lisa Cameron, has left the SNP and defected to the Conservatives.

She seems to have particularly stood her ground on anti-abortion, and has been abused as a consequence.

If you wish to read more on Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP and pharmaceuticals and why they may make you sick there are these links.

Baldmichael Theresoluteprotector'sson. When not posting pages or paging posties, trying to be a good husband, and getting over a long term health issue, I am putting the world to rights. I have nothing better to do, so why not? But of course that includes dancing, being funny (in more than one sense), poking fun at life, poking fun at myself, deflating the pompous, reflating the sad. Seeking to heal the whole of the soul (and body where possible). In short making life as good as it possibly can be for others as well as myself. You can't say fairer than that. But if you can, please say. People need to know.

  1. Thanks for posting this rather ‘illuminating’ composition, Baldmichael. Yes there is something very ‘Fishy’ indeed. so glad that boy/girl ? (difficult to establish without the usual strip down and inspect) nauseating SNP politician has tossed the political caber and hopefully got eaten by ‘Nessi’ the elusive monster of Loch Ness. hopefully it has had little affect on that poor creature attempting to digest the putrid politician.
